Mileage increase. Air intake, highflow muffle, gott mod, other? what has worked?

So I have a 09 4.6L and would love to get another couple mpg. Will a flowmaster and a air intake get me there? a economy chip? is it even possible and if it is, what's the cheapest/easiest/safest route?

i heard the chip doesn't do anything. the only thing that controls the mileage is your foot on the gas peddle IMO

every mod you make that exceeds $50 is not cost beneficial. if you planned those things as mods and fuel economy was a nice perk of it - then by all means. but if you're doing it specifically for fuel economy gains, i fear you have picked the wrong vehicle to be driving around in.

Put an egg between your right foot and the gas pedal.

come on a leveling kit isnt going to increase mileage, if it was that simple, it would come from the dealer that way. IMO the only way to increase mileage is to ruin the strict emissions standards that the factory follows.

The major factors in MPG improvements are free:

1) Carpool
2) Drive the speed limit and no shotgun starts
3) Air you tires up to maximum sidewall pressure

Ill disagree with number 3. I wouldnt go that far. because if you inflate to the maximum sidewall pressure, then what happens when you drive around and the tires heat up and the pressure increases? then you are over the maximum. I have always gone about 4-5 psi below the max rated tire pressure so that when im heated up im sitting right about the max.

I've got 4 cars that see close to the maximum pressure of the tire sidewall rating.

You will find that your MPG will be a bit better and your tires will last a lot longer.

And it's freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Actually, lowering it will give slightly better mileage as will a bed lid. Nothing will pay for the mod except the freebies.

^^^I doubt it. Every mod I've ever made, decrease my mileage or kept it the same at best.

I will qualify that with the fact that SO FAR, I've not made any mods to the 2011, 5.0 truck, so I can't really tell yet how it responds.
