King Ranch on 35's?

I am looking for pictures of King Ranch trucks with a leveling kit and 35's, also with a ranch hand brush guard (not bumper) if anyone has one. Thanks for your help! I am trying to decide between an 08 Tahoe z71 or this truck, any persuasion would be appreciated too. Any big issues with the 5.4 trucks? I've been told by a few mechanics that the Tahoe would be a better choice but I really don't think so.

Go with the ford. once you get the tahoe you are going to wish you had a bed. the tahoe is nice no doubt but if you plan on hauling anything i would go with a truck.

w/ the 09+ 5.4 ford had all the issues worked out. not sure if their were any issues with the 09 update, but i do not believe anything major.

i'm assuming both trucks are 4wd? IIRC the NNBS tahoes require more than a leveling kit for 35's, could be wrong. also what gears does it have? a friends z71 chevy has 3.42's, 35s will really eat up the power quick.

my friend just got rid of his 06 tahoe at 90k miles because it was breaking about once a month, just random things and at that point it wasn't worth fixing anymore. not saying a ford won't but i've had good luck with all our fords.

if you go down below the 2009-2011 section you will see a KR section, they have a post your KR thread should be the first one, their should be some leveled on 35's in there.

A buddy of mine has a tahoe. Pretty cool car. He used to have mud terrains and it could go anywhere. No major issues with it.

I got my fx4 and love it its not a king ranch. but that tahoe wont compare to a king ranch interior

I have a friend that lives down the street that has a 2011 king ranch with a leveling kit and trail graps and a RH brush guard. Just what you asked for. I'll take pics tomorrow after school for ya

Yes, both would be 4wd. I know that in 07, the z71 had 3.73's with an optional 4.10 from the factory; but I think that in '08 the 4.10's were what came in it (not positive about that). There was a guy that had a non-Z71 with a 3" suspension kit that was made for a silverado on the front and, I think, a 3" spacer in the rear (Cali-lean) that was running 35" trail grapplers on the stock 20's. That's probably what I would want to do, because otherwise 305's is pretty much it with a leveling kit. So the 2010 5.4 would be pretty much issue-free? Thanks for your help.

Thanks for doing that! Also, how do you like your 08 250? I have also been considering an 08 king ranch, I love the powerstroke but I don't think I need something that big? I'm looking forward to the pics!

It's awesome!! I'm living in Plano right now with my mom and my truck is with my dad and I don't get to drive it that often which is depressing but I really love it and I haven't had any trouble with it and we have had it for 3years. You can put anything behind them and it will pull it!

Mine's an FX4, not a king ranch, and I have a Trail FX grille guard, not a ranch hand, but this still might help you out: (lots of pictures in the link)

You need to decide what your needs are going to be. The Z71 Tahoes are pretty nice. I had a 2004 Tahoe Z71 and could go anywhere with it; slightly smaller wheelbase, turned on a dime, plenty of power. Also, you can get a liner for the rear, fold up the rear seats, and haul as much as a short bed truck with a topper. The 2008 (new bodies) Tahoes that you are considering are very much improved and have more features than the older gen that I had, but never had any issues, and the 5.3L is plenty responsive and easy to mod. But if you really need to haul gear or toys, going with the Ford can't be beat.

This is my '07 King Ranch with only 33s that replaced the Tahoe (so almost pertinent to your thread...lol):

Now fuse this with my '09 with 35s and compare with the Tahoe:

I thought my '09 with 5.4L had plenty of power even with the lift and larger meats. I had absolutely no issues at all with the engine, or anything else on this truck. All in all, a well built machine!

Your truck looks great! I really like that brush guard too! So are you still liking the 35's? What is your mileage looking like now?

Desert Dawg: all your trucks look good! Yea, I am going to be test driving quite a few of both just to make sure. I love the Tahoe's, but the bed of the truck is just more convenient, and I have wanted a King Ranch truck for a long time.
