Most of the gas stations around here (DFW) stop after $85. I find it annoying. But luckily that's right about when I need to stop anyway 'cause I have the smaller 26 gal tank.

Gas in Fort Worth is about $3.79 on average right now.

My worst yet was $130 to fill last week. Need to fill twice a week with my commute and activities. Just picked up an old 4 banger volvo and am currently getting it road ready. 25 mpg will sure beat 17 mpg.

Paid 4.29 for 89 yesterday. I get half a tank a week so I just fill from half. Never did careless driving so I just go from home to school and work.

Weren't we told a couple years ago, by some messianic guy, that energy prices would necessarily skyrocket?

Everything is going as planned.

Time for all of us rubes and rednecks to trade in our gas guzzeling pick-up trucks for fuel sipping bread boxes.

My V6 F150 is currently getting an average of about 20mpg. My wifes Mazda 3 hatch get's 25-30mpg. Looks like we'll be putting more miles on her car this year.

I believe (I could be wrong) that Ford recommends 89 octane. It is All I have ever run in any of my F150's and All I will run. There is no way in hell I'm going to run premium fuel at $4.09 per gallon, when my truck runs just fine on 89 octane at 3.89 (currently).

.
I had a 08 SD. When the fuel clicks off, you are nowhere near full. You can squeeze 3-4 more gallons in. You need to be patient though because diesel is real foamy. Once it clicks pull the nozzle out so you can watch the fuel come out. Only squeeze the nozzle a 1/4 - 1/2 way and keep filling all the way until the fuel hits the neck. I actually found the right angle where the fuel wouldn't foam, but still takes a while because your only getting a small rate out of the nozzle. It will kick foam back at you every now and then, but keep filling until fuel (liquid is at the neck). This will serve you well especially when towing. A trick most SD owners do is the Harpoon trick (google it). FYI, it's not bad to top off diesel trucks because of no vapor pressure and returnless fuel system, gasoline is a no no.
