Ya, I can see where your going with it being too high for the wheel size.
Im really interested in this 4 inch lift though, it sounds a little more reasonable than the 6 inch.

Im hoping someone chimes in as to whether this would work on a these models...

as a side note...

this is the standard version which is what I was thinking of getting with the EB.
Its just a level.
But how badly would this affect an EB in terms of mileage I dont know ? Hopefully someone has experience with lifting or leveling.

what do you want to know exactly about it?

and there is a thread on lifting an EB somewhere around here. i personally would stick to a 5.0 if i was lifting, that EB is going to have to hold more boost to keep making it's power and in turn is going to tank your MPG's.

I dont want to highjack this thread but I was thinking about the 5.0 as well, but figured with the lift/wheels the EB would still be better.
With only a level/33's do you think Id still be fine with the EB ?

either way you will be happy, but my personal opinion is i think the 5.0 is better if you ever plan to go larger than 33's.

there is a member here with the EB, 33's with the max tow package (4.10 gears instead of 3.73), towing he is getting crap mileage. i would PM him to see what his normal everyday driving unloaded is with those 33's.

edit: is that second truck you just posted a 2010 fx4? doesn't have the head/tail lights for a 2011 fx4

Ill take a look around to see if I can find him.
I wont do much towing though.

and ya the second is a 2010. They have the same one in Blue but 2011 with the 5.0 which is the one Im comparing to the ecoboost.

Trucks come with almost 33" tires stock.

Lifting and fuel economy don't even belong in the same sentence. Like 06yz250f, I'd go for the 5.0 if this is what you are planning on doing. I had a thread going a while back about just this subject...

Ya I read that one, but it seems the consensus was that the ecoboost would still have better MPG's.
Realistically Im looking at level and 33'3

Your probably fine, but I wouldn't expect anything over probably 15 mpgs, and that would be a stretch IMO. The EB isn't getting the mpgs many expected, but it is fun to drive. I'm betting it's on par with what any lifted vehicle averages which is anywhere between 10-14, respectively.

The lift would be fine on the Eco Boost. Is has more power at stock height and it will have more power at the lifted height. Torque moves weight and it has the most.

2011 Eco Boost, has Electric Power Streering, 2010 didn't.

So I doubt that a 2010 lift will work.

IMO leave bushwacker flares off on a leveled truck, they are too big to look right on a stock height truck.
But the Caption states that truck has a 6" lift kit in it.

Im assuming thats city -15mpg
Ive read reports that the EB was getting 18 city and 21-24 highway from other forums. I didnt expect the wheels and level to affect it THAT much..
Something to really think about I guess.
The 5.0 is still an option but worry how bad it would be affected by the same mods.

And Im really sorry for highjacking this thread....

The 5.0 won't be affected as much because it's not a boosted engine.

The Ecoboost need boost to make power. Add 30+ lbs at each corner + more wind drag and the Ecoboost will be boosting alot more then stock. In return, it will give you poor gas millage.

Local shop was supposed to start on the Rancho install today and I also got the following email from Rancho:

> I have talked with the engineering team, and they are still in the process
> of fitment on the 2011's, therefore, we do not have fitment on the 2011 kit
> as of yet. Should you decide to install, there will be no warranty or tech
> support as previously mentioned, we have not fitted that truck yet.

Hopefully I can get a hold of the shop in the morning and they haven't ripped in to it yet....
