Sick of getting blinded by "H.I.D.'s"

One when you get nice kits and not cheap ricer kits they cost money. two my brother is also a firefighter in florida and has been for years and never once has he said anything about hid's caused accidents and he himself has them in his F150. so the whole firefighter thing is a bunch of bull

Lol I love the ads that are popping up right now "hids for $37!!"
I've got 6000k heads and fogs, two 55w procomps, and two 100w Daylighters all setup to come on with my highbeams, And am planning on more lol. Alaska doesn't have any pansy laws about how many lights you can have on, because bright lights save lives.

i have 5100k retrofit hids in my heads, stock fogs for now and 2 55w hellas behind the grill. i'm planning on putting hids in my hellas and fogs to match my heads. also planning on building a lightbar like the smittybilt ones to add 4 more up front, hid equipped also.
since when are hids ricer? as long as you're not running around with the bluest of blue ones, or pink ones for that matter, they're fine. i'm not a fan of the blue hids, 6k +, but that's me and that's why i bought 5100k to have them as white as possible and get the most usable light

A ricer is a car that has pointless modifications just for show. HIDs are part of this. Stock for stock, halogens are much better at lighting usable road compared to HIDs. Retrofits are modifying high-end xenon components from Audi, Mercedes, Cadillac, Lincoln using Valeo, GE, Philips, Osram products to make the top-of-the-line lights. You will never find a ricer that does a retrofit, but then again, I see 12,000K HIDs in stock housings of ricers all day every day. I don't see why you people put $35 lights in your big expensive trucks. Take the time and money to do it right and the results will speak for themselves.
its true its cost effective, but its not made for it and it blinds people. especially people in cars.

Raptor - you are wrong stating halogens are better than pNp hids. 4300-6000k hids give out twice the light as stock yellow bulbs. You never answered my question on when hids become 'rice' I would say 10,000k+ is rice, or the purple, pink, green ones. But 5000 or 6000? Looks factory to me...

Anything in the stock reflector looks ricer because of the glare, it looks far from factory bud. 8k + is even funnier because of the blue.

Someday I'll get projectors, when I've got money laying around and someone makes a decent looking pair.
Keep your "projectors rule all" pipedream going though, good luck with it

All this back and forth bantering but I'm wondering if there a "best of" list that the community can agree on. If one of us is looking for HIDs, where should we start our look for the best quality without light scatter. How about a comparison table?

Cameras are deceptive. The only way to get a true comparison is to see them in person.
The back and fourth got old a while ago. It turned into a circle-jerk for the HID guys.
