Got beat by a ram :(

I pulled up beside of a guy in a 2009? dodge ram 4 door with hemi and it sounded good so I asked to race. Once we took off i knew it was quick, had me from the start. Im programmed and it didnt help at all.Him and his lapdog beat me by about a truck and a half. I asked him when we stopped what he had on it and he said cams and headers...and wanting more. I was alittle shocked it was that quick. So I was curious if anyone had done this with their 09/10 5.4's?

Get a better tune for starters and maybe long tubes and intake

Off topic I saw a new dodge yesterday with his driveshaft on the ground and a grenaded rear end

No surprise. these new trucks are slow and sluggish, well at least mine is. Tried to beat a Saturn vue off a red-light to swap lanes to make my turn into a resturaunt and had to push the pedal through the floor. My 07 was much better with 8" and 35s ect..
My 2010 has 33s and an exhaust that's it.

Get high flow cats-longtube headers-true dual exhaust in 2.5" with straight through mufflers-and a custom tune for the headers. Youll pick up 30 hp/35 tq. Put some 4.10 gears and youll notice a huge difference too.

Lol, you dont even have to go that far. My screw w/the 5.0 is neck and neck with my buddies 6.2L Sierra screw. According to pickuptrucks.com, as of 2010 the sierra was the quickest truck you could get. I would guess the 6.2 and 3.5 would both put a hurting on anything else being sold right now.

I call BS if he had Cams and headers he'd have smoked you worse then that. He probably just had exhaust.

09/10 F-150s are high 16 sec trucks, that dodge is a mid to low 15 sec truck. No way your gonna beat one unless they are pulling a trailer and your not.

When I'm driving my 07 Company expedition I don't even want to be in a drag race with anyone. I think a Kia Rio would smoke me.

Your telling me that the 5.0 Ford is busting out high 14 low 15 sec 1/4 miles?

Best 1/4 mile time I've seen for a 6.2 is the Harley truck at 15.1@93. Raptor at 15.2 @ 92 and the 5.0 @ 15.1@93 too which I find every interesting but it could be the 22"s and awd sucking up the 6.2s power vs the XLT small tire/wheel comboed 5.0 truck. All from Car and driver. I'd be impressed if the 5.0 was really that fast the ones we have at the office feel more like mid to high 15s trucks.

Very true, my heavy EB has hurt lot of feelings around town. There have been a couple of modded trucks who have been spanked my a little V6 in a crew cab 4x4.

That's funny seeing how my 2010 F-150 Supercab 4X4,4.6 3V,6 Speed automatic and 3.73 gears has ran a best of a 16.25 at 84.89 mph and the worst pass was a 16.50 at 83.32 mph.The 16.25 at 84.89 mph was a 50 degree day.Last Saturday was about 75 degrees first pass 16.41 at 83.33 mph,16.50 at 83.32 mph,16.31 at 84.09 mph and a 16.39 at 83.17 mph. This truck is bone stock no mods at all.And the tailgate down when you race is a myth. The fastest passes i've made in this truck the tailgate was closed.

Later Mark.
