shaking passenger seat

I know this is a problem, haven't heard anything lately. Anybody get a fix on the shaking pass seat? I asked dealer 2 weeks ago. They said no fix, but will look at it. I said I don't have time right now. I am going to have them look at it again. Its getting worse.

per hotline-- its 'normal' .. well. in their understanding anyway.. i have 2009 plat. it did it before the tire and shock swap. went from stock to bilstein 5100's front set to full rise. and 285 60 20 goodyear wrangler silent armors. way heavier tire. and stiffer up front . they said if it gets worse hotline will point finger at installed aftermarket equipment.

this also i believe is the cause for my air bag light coming on. there are a couple modules in that lower seat tract. and it has already been replaced once.. still comes on now and then but nothing like it was.

On my wife's fusion I noticed the shaking of the passenger seat when I had the snow tires put on. Since the stock 18"s are back on it is silky smooth. Tire issue, balance issue????

That seems to be Fords answer for everything they don't want to fix. Sync can't remember what song was playing, thats normal. A/C is marginal at best. Oh yea, thats normal as well.

I wounder if its the tires? I got from factory BF goodrich rugged trail t/a LT245-75r-17e. I rotated soon after first oil change, I need to rotate again. It does seem something is out of balance. I do get shaking feeling in truck. Its too early to replace with Michelens. I only have 9400 miles on her. But the pass seat vibrates if facing seat more on right side.

Th e only time I notice my passenger seat vibrating is when I go over bumps. I have the Michelins and I know I have thrown two tire weights.

Have someone go underneath and bang the drive line by the tranny mount while your hand is on the passenger seat. You can feel the energy from the drive line go directly to the seat.

I believe this is the cause (along with weak seat brackets). I haven't found a fix for this.

I have the pass seat rattle/shaking/vibration issue and I also have seven separate paint flaws and left front & rear door rattles. I took the wife's 2011 Fusion to the dealer this past week for service. They said they couldn't reproduce any issues. The door panel rattle on her car only happens above 60 mph. They said they took it down a bumpy road in their area. I know the street; it is the same one we used when I was in service. The speed limit is 30 mph. They told me it was the road surface I was driving on above 60 mph.

I received two great deals on the purchase of the STX and Fusion so I guess their service is going to be worthless. I love Ford vehicles. Although, these may be the last ones I buy for a very long time. There are three dealers within 20 miles of my home, and all three service departments are worthless. I guess I can say that, I used to be a service writer and manager.

I guess I'll fix the Fusion door rattle myself and hope the electric cooling fan goes out before the factory warranty expires.

for whatever it's worth, my 09 lariat screw w/25k miles has done the 'shakin seat' thing since day one. I just ignore it, it's a truck and I've rode in that seat, nothing wrong with it...

I'm with this guy.

It only does it sometimes, and if its bothering you that bad, stuff something between the seat and the armrest....that will stop it.

That should tide you over until Ford has the "fix" for the seat.

IMO.....

rotated tires. and adjusted air pressure. all tires were 10 psi over inflated. Seems like vibration issues went down. I came from a 2000 f150 to a 2010 model. I noticed a big difference in the way they are. Lighter, thinner metal all around. I guess that what we get now a days.

My seat shaking is clearly caused by the bumps that I drive over with a stiff suspension. I find it annoying and if something eventually breaks, I'd expect Ford to do something about it.

Other than a somewhat slow responding throttle, which I'm certain a flash tuner will cure, my truck has been great.

My 2010 does ride better than my 2000 model. I have to watch my speed. I do 80 mph on hwy and don't even know it. Its just made cheaper then the 2000 model. I'd love to change the shocks but its too early. Have to wait till 30,000 mi
I'm going to mention to dealer about seat shaking again just to have on record.

I have a 2011 Taurus Limited FWD with the standard 19" Goodyear tires and the tires flat spot after sitting even for just a day. The passenger seat shakes for the first 2 or 3 miles and then settles down after that. Air pressure makes no difference and now that I know what the issue is I just chalk it up to the cheap tires Ford elected to equip it with.

I live on a bumpy gravel road. They say it's normal. It didn't do it on my 06,07, and it's not normal. Between this, warranty length and the other issues i've had with past Ford trucks, this is probably my last Ford.
