Recent gas mpg sucking the big one

Last two trips out to the gopher patch about 225 kms I'm using more than 1/2 tank of fuel, then yesterday some easy hiway driving 166kms I'm well over a 1/4 of a tank used.
Truck is 2010 Lariat Screw 4x4
Anything a guy look for as a possible cause? FS

How many miles on the truck? This just started? Same trips before with less fuel?

More ethanol in the fuel than before?

Do you have actual comparative gas mileage figures, either from manual calculation or from the lie-o-meter?

Any chance it might be a gauge or fuel level sensor problem? Have you had a chance to fill it and do a rough calculation to see if the gauge and the amount of fuel you actually put in are in agreement?

I switched from Shell 87 to PetroCan (Sunoco) 87 a couple of fill ups ago and my mileage droped a full 1km/litre (manually calculated) that's substantial.

Not gonna make any presumptions at this time but I will switch back to Shell 87 to see if the fuel efficiency improves.

Need to double check but I believe I saw 15% ethanol posted at both Shell and Sunoco (for the 87 grade).

Im in Alberta too. What do you get as an average? I get around 16l/100km City driving going very easy on the fun pedal. I fill up mostly at Costco. In the winter i sit right around 19-20.

Sunoco has excessive ethanol. I get crappy mileage when I use it here in the States.

Shell

87 = 10% Possible

89 = 5% Possible

91= None

Esso..

Apparently 10% throughout... But I get the same mileage with it, as Shell..

Petro Can...Sunoco..Husky........Less 1 to 1.5 MPG......

My measurments all taken with the same scernarios...

I can get 20mpg if I'm mindful. (Shell/Esso)

Can't blame the gas stations either....Tried several to see if it was that...

I have done my own version of the Gotts mod...And a custom tune..

I have always used what ever gas they pump at Canadian Tire. Just did a trip to lloyd and back so I'll fill up in the morning and see how many liters. FS
