WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brand new (3 days old) 2011 F-150 FX-4 Screw ECO 6.5 bed and the steel cross member that supports the whole dashboard is rusted. (will post pics as soon as I get around to it.

I was looking under the dash to see where to hardwire the Radar Detector and the GPS and noticed that the steel cross-member that runs under the steering wheel at about knee high is covered in rust. I then removed the glove box to have a look around and all the steel support brackets on the passenger side are rusted too.


Anyone else have this issue? Please have a look?

Sent a e-mail to the dealer and am waiting to hear back.

 

It's not going to rust away into nothing. Nothing to be worried about.

 

I remember most vehicles like this when I worked a a stereo shop. It's just raw untreated steel. It's never seen so they don't waste $$ painting or treating it. It's just surface rust, not major corrosion.
