need help with which engine

Hello,
I have been reading threads here trying to decide witch engine I want in a 2009 f-150 I've been looking to buy. So far I've read that the 3valve is the best with fuel consumption. Now I am seeing ads that say " SEQUENTIAL-PORT F.I., ''......is this something new as I've never seen it in an ad before. Any help will be appreciated.

If you aren't towing heavy, the 4.6 3 valve is the best 09 engine. It has plenty of pep and gets very decent gas mileage. If you tow heavy, get a 5.4.

X3,I have a 2010 F-150 Supercab 4X4,4.6 3V,3.73 gears and 6 speed automatic.I had a 2007 F-150 Supercab 4X4,5.4 3V,3.55 gears and 4 speed automatic.To my suprise the 2010 F-150 4.6 3V was faster in the 1/4 mile 16.25 at 84.89 mph -vs- 16.65 at 83.21 mph in the 2007 F-150 5.4 3V.Now for pulling a trailer the 5.4 would have more torque and probably do a better job.But i'm happy with the 4.6 3V like the other guy said it's pretty peppy.

Later Mark.
