Wheel / Tire Fitment Question (will it rub?)

Hi all,

I am making the rounds to every F150 forum I can find to get some input.

I am going to run the following

Raptor Take Off Wheels
6.16" backspacing
34mm offset
17" X 8.5" wide

2.5” AS Leveling Kit

Kelly Safari TSR 315/70 R17 Tires
Diameter 34.4
Section Width 12.7

My assumption is that since the tire is measured on a 9.5” wheel mine will be a smidge less wide (like .40 smaller so 12.3)

I know people who are running similar to above with the BFG AT with no rubbing issues

The BFG Measurements on a 8.5” are:
Section Width 12
Diameter 34.5

I really like the Kelly tire but they are special order and I am stuck with them if I order them. The next size down is a 285/70 (33 x 11.5)

I just want to be 99% sure I won’t have any issues.

Thanks!

IMO(said cuz im not an expert) it will fit slight rubbin cuz of tire size/width, how ever you may need a little big rear block to help releave stress/sag. I planned on doin the same on my old 07' and i was told by folks here and a tire shop it'd fit. the kelly safari TSR's are awesome tires, great tread life, n decent in the mud.

Thanks.

I am stuck on this size because I am so sold on the Safari TSRs. Next size down is a 285/70 which would be OK, but I hope I can swing the 315s

you can fit a 315/70/17. don't need to mess with the rear. might have slight rubbing at full lock

I can tell you that my 295/70/18 (34.57x11.73) Nitto trail graps on Factory FX4 wheels come Oh so close to the lower bumper valance. I can guarantee that I wouldn't stand a chance of fitting a dime between the tire and valance. I suspect that any wheel with even an inch difference in backspace I would have to start trimming. Not the same tire, but might offer a little reference.

^^ you have a more aggressive tire. an AT side lugs won't be as bad.

i have seen an unleveled 2wd on 315/70/17 bfg at and my quick glance over showed minimal rubbing. did not talk to the owner though.
