Does My MPG Suck?

Does My MPG Suck?
Yes, yes...I know. Our trucks are not fuel efficient. Let's get that out of the way.
Last two fill-ups, by a genuine pocket calculator (actually, iPhone), show my city MPG as around 13.85. I've given up totally on the computer's "lies", which showed my last MPG as 16.9.
The last two tanks were 80 percent city, 20 percent highway.
I have a light foot (I'm 58 - been there, done that with the speeding, etc.). No mods to add weight, and have a tonneau cover (which I prayed would at least help a bit with fuel economy). No jack-rabbit starts, and try my best to keep it at or under 2,000 RPM.
So - is it me, or are those of you I've read claiming you get 17 to 18 MPG city that's fibbing?
Eh - no big deal, I suppose. I babied it this last tank, and truly believed I'd hit at least 15 this time, so I'm just sulking.

What engine, gearing? 4x4 or 4x2? I get about 17-18 MPG keeping it around 2,000 rpm. The computer is pretty close usually, within .5 mpg. I am about 50/50 city/highway, but "city" to me is winding country roads where I can cruise at 35-40 mph. However, highway is stop and go for the most part.
On long trips going about 65-75 I averaged about 20 mpg in higher elevations. Not towing anything but truck filled with gear.

Uh...yeah. Guess it would have been helpful to say it's the 4.6L 4X2 Super Cab.
Impressive that your computer's MPG reading is so accurate. I don't trust much about anything mine tells me.
My previously written issues about the fuel relay sensor are still unresolved. Hell, I can park on a slight downward slope with over a half-tank of fuel, and the next morning, I'm on "E" with "Zero Miles to Empty" showing.
I've just come to accept that issue, and tell my wife when it shows "E", that there's really a half-tank.

FYI, my fuel usage: http://www.fuelly.com/driver/zski128/f150
I have not heard of that problem, but my driveway is level where I park so I probably will not have noticed this. I would think it should recalculate at some point...

LOL...I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed (used to be...but age...you know), but I kept thinking I was missing something by his question. Sometimes the "joke" is so obvious, it goes over my head.
Well, I suppose I do feel better, reading about the others' MPG averages. But, methinks some of the former statements about getting 18-19 city were a tad exaggerated!
Ah - for the days when gas was $.30 cents a gallon (oops...did I just show my age?) and flooring the accelerator didn't cause mental calculations on what groceries to do without that week!
