Stake Pocket Retractable Bed Hooks in 5.5' bed
Has anyone installed retractable bed hooks in the stake pockets on a short bed?
What brand?
What thickness shimming is needed to prevent unsightly deformation of the bed rail?
What is the max load bearing capacity and how does it accomplish it, since it seems the short beds no longer have rectangular tubing welded in place in the stake pocket; just the stake opening on the bed rail.
Can't believe Ford deleted the pre-molded stake opening outline from the bed rail caps
Pix if you have 'em!

I went with the Extang after market cleats because the XLT version doesn't have access to the stake pocket for some dumb reason. They hold 500 lbs each and can move up and down the rail to your desired location. They come in a 2 pack and can be left under most tonneau covers.

That surprises me given the way it grips onto the rail. I can't see why the spray-on liner would interfere.

The Extang rep on the phone told me that there might be an issue only for trucks that don't have a plastic bed rail cap and have the spray-on lining go on top of the bed rail. Because of the shape of the cleat mounting (L-shaped), the rough texture of the lining may not allow the cleat to sit properly and securely.
For F150's and their plastic bed rail caps, it should work just fine.
Unfortunately for me, it will not work with my BAKFlip F1
