2011 F-150 XLT Supercab 4X4,EcoBoost,3.55 LS axle.It just turned 700 miles as i was leaving the track.
First pass brought it up against the converter just about 1,200 rpm

Damn good numbers considering the DA and the fact you are just starting out. As someone else mentioned, you HAVE to launch it in boost. You need to get on the converter until you hear it spooling up....about 2000rpms is all I can get before it starts to spin. I would turn the traction control off and on the last amber light nail that sucker.... On a sticky track it should hook or barely spin (which may actually help it a bit).....if it does spin, try 4hi. Matter in fact, you may be able to build more boost on the line in 4 hi with all wheels getting power.... It needs all the boost you can get on the line. I bet 2.00 - 2.10 60's are obtainable..... That would have been 14.70 or so that night for you...
I will be racing mine next weekend and trying some different things and see what it does.... Mine has a leveling kit, 20"s and 305/55s so is pulling more weight, more wind drag and it's hurting the gearing some... I hope I can still get in the 14s even with the wheel handicap..

^^^ Like he said. In my unofficial back roads launch tests I have found that my truck will run the best when I hold it in the 1800-2000 RPM range with the TC off. Lift off the brakes as I roll into the throttle. This lets the tires spin just a little bit to get the revs up. Much more than 2K and the tires spin too much. Good results though, how many chevys did you kill? Even more importantly did you get the chance to crush a tundra?

I raced a GMC S-15 pickup but it had a V-8,open headers and slicks he ran a high 12.Then i raced a Mid 90's Cougar XR7 Supercharged V-6,5 speed he ran a high 14 to my 15.44 on the second pass.The 3rd pass i ran solo no one in the other lane.To tell you the truth there were no newer Chevy or GMC full size trucks racing and no Toyota's as it was Ford VS Gm.Maybe they new i was going to be there with the EcoBoost and were afraid.

I've been thinking about the 2WD vs 4WD launch question. To me if you want to launch in 4WD I would make sure the from end is locked up well before I get to the starting line and leave it there until I lift off the gas. The manual says there is not a top speed for 4WD but it can not be engaged at more than 55 or 35 when really cold. Once the front end is locked up I would not try to unlock it while putting down maximum power. That just seems like it would be rough on the hubs, transfer case and disconnects.
