Talked to guy that has 120k on EB and 125k on 5.0
My friend is the manager of a local tire testing facility here in town. They test truck tires for companies and are running the truck 7 days a week at 800 miles a day with atleast 600lbs of weight in the bed of the truck. I talked to him today when we went to lunch.
The 2011 EB has 120k miles on it and so far no problems at all. They change the oil every 8000 miles and so far changed the tranny fluid twice at 50k intervals and the rear diff fluid at 100k. This truck is run during the overnite hours and during the heat of day (110 degrees). These truck are run hard all the time as in wide open up to the speed limit and when going up a hill they run them has hard as they need to keep speed, and are hardly ever turned off. The truck is AVG 14 mpg which i dont think is that bad at all.
Now the 2011 5.0 they have has had a few major problems... Since new the truck has used atleast a quart of oil every 4k miles. The transmission went out at 82k and the engine had a rod go threw the block on cylinder one. The AVG mpg's are around 12.
They are ordering 6 more EB's here in the next few weeks along with a couple 6.2's
Just thought i would share this with yall. Like i have stated these truck have the **** run out of them 24/7 so more than likely this wouldnt happen in real world driving.

sometimes depending on what they are testing they throw 600 pounds or so on the grill guard along with the weight in the bed

That's more weight than what can go in the bed of a dually F350... I don't see how that is possible without busting the suspension or the frame and even legal in the state. There is such a law as a "low axle" offence, but I'm sure if they had to go thru a DOT weigh station they would more than likely fine them a lot.
I would not want to drive a 1/2 ton with a load that weighs probably more than the truck itself, let alone at highway speeds. I've carried 2700 lbs of concrete in mine, and my tires were bulging and my truck sagged like I was in the space shuttle going to take off. On top of that, the truck was very squrrlie, meaning that it drove and handled like it was going to fly off the road or keep going straight. It was quite interesting.
