The Lightning certainly was not the fastest thing I've ever owned but not bad.

Seems like stock lightnings run in the 8's in 1/8th mile to me, also it would appear that they consistently run in the mid 13's in the 1/4. Throw some stickier tires on the L and the times improve, when you ran did you launch in 4x4 or not?

ET is dependend on the density altitude. a stock L was running 9.2' and 9.1 at the same track, the same night.

sticker tires would not help either truck. traction was not a issue. my eco is 2wd.

Finally! It doesn't bother me or make me jealous. I think it is great!

About 200 of us Roush Nitemare owners have been the only ones representing the later F150's (2004+) on streets and to be honest, I'm get tired of trying to explain to the Titan guys how they don't want to really run me down the track and that YES this F150 is fast. Very fast. And no, that I am not lieing to them.

I can't wait for the chevy, dodge, and titan guys to start whining about getting beat by F150's with a V6. And just wait until the tuners get their hands on this thing, it is going to be incredible.

As too the Lightning guys, I would say that it is just the way things go with new technology and really for them to be upset, the new truck really is not serious competition to us (no offense) because for very little money we can be in the 12's and for just few thousand, we can be in the 11's. We have forged motors and it will take alot more money for the 2011's to keep up, which is going to be rare. We are the performance part of the truck people in the F150 world and very few go down our path. I mean, I am in high 12's with nothing more then a tune and better traction and I won three drag racing events.

Just like when I bought my 98 Cobra, it was king of the road. Then the 03 Cobra came out so I supercharged and alchohol injected the car the 98, just to have the new 5.0 mustang come off the showroom and run neck and neck with me on the track.

I am a Ford person and I think it is great what Ford is doing. Nothing has the performance potential of Turbo's and I only wish they done this to the V8's long ago. So go out and kick some Titans butts, so I can take a break!

Thanks for the money to have OEM wheels that look good and I know will last, they are hard to beat.

And I agree 100% with the above poster, the Gen 2 L came out 12 years ago, and it can be made pretty quick for just a little bit of money, it truly changed the performance truck market. To me the ecoboost is changing the regular truck market with an engine that performs well and can get good mileage. My wife is the one that drives the truck daily, replacing the 03 Harley that she had. She got 10mpg in the HD and 14.5 in the ecoboost so far.. 35-45% better mileage for similar performance, not bad.

i agree also, except the part of the 98 cobra being king of the road...I drove a stock ls1 camaro back then that would have said otherwise and once it had bolt-on's and a cam for a little under $2000 total is was a true beast.

LOVE MY FIRST FORD AND MY ECOBOOST! ford is so far ahead of the other manufacturers right now it is not even funny
