What kind of bass boat weighs that much? Most bass boats I've seen are 18'-20' long and run 150-225 HP outboard. Even on a tandem axle trailer, I struggle with one weighing more than about 2,500 pounds. You should be able to tow that like there's nothing even behind you.

Boats tow differently/easier than travel trailer RVs of the same weight.

While there are better options for a tow vehicle, it's expensive to change now. Run what you brung, learn from the experience, ask more questions before making the next decision.

3000lbs. That is with 150 Opti I have a 175 ProXS that weighs more not including all the gear that is in boat when going fishing.

Except for the bridges way up there in Baton Rouge you don't have any hill's or mountain's to worry about! I pull a 22 ft Triton bay boat with no problem's so you'll be OK. Geaux Tiger's!

3:73 gears

I had it figured out with my 2004 F150... It was a matter of gas mileage for me and towing more second.

I saw the other 3:55 guys got real good gas mileage but at the expense of power. I wanted to get both... The big trailer guys always used the 4:10 gears which resulted in less then 10MPG... So back then I got the 3:73 gears on my 2004 F150 and it had pretty good power and gas mileage as well.

When I traded trucks last year I made sure it had the 5.4 engine with the 3:73 gears... I am getting 18-21MPG pulling my 4200lb OFF ROAD POPPUP. Strange enough I get just about the same gas mileage without pulling the popup haha... I get my best gas mileage using Shell gasoline for some reason...

Wow, I have a 22' Progression with a 200 Merc that weighs right around 2,000 pounds. Of course it's vacuum bagged too. Must be those huge fish in the tanks!

I am thinking Nitro is saying total weight is with the trailer and outboard.
