EcoBoost Overheating.

Great work.
If I'm reading this correctly...
- EcoBoost non-Max Tow will have the Medium size radiator
- 5.0 will have the Small or Medium size radiator
and
- Max Tow Ecoboost and Max Tow 6.2 will have the Large radiator
If you want the Large Super Cooling radiator you have to go with the Max Tow Package. The regular tow package only gives you the medium size.

You can get an EB with no tow package, the Tow Package(535), or the Max tow Package.
The Ford Brochure says the Tow Package comes with the radiator upgrade. The above post says there are only two radiators available in an EB.
Therefore both tow packages would have to have the largest.
3.5 no tow - medium/super cooling with 41 rows
3.5 with either tow package - large/super cooling with 51 rows

According to the source book, only the Max Tow (5) gets the Super Cooling radiator with 51 rows.
3.5L V6 Standard 521 16.54 31.50 1.26 41 16.5 16.0 14.0/14.8 5/5
Super Cooling(5) 521 16.54 31.50 1.26 51 16.5 16.5 14.0/14.8 5/5
Super Cooling for EcoBoost is only available with Max Tow (5) and includes 51 tubes.
You also see the the Super cooling radiator for the 5.0 (non-Max) Tow Package only has 41 rows.
5.0L V8 Standard 521 16.54 31.50 0.94 41 15.2 16.0 14.0/14.8 5/5
Super Cooling(3) 521 16.54 31.50 1.26 41 16.5 17.0 14.0/14.8 5/5
For the 6.2, only the Large Super Cooling Raditor with 51 tubes is used.
6.2L V8 Standard NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA
Super Cooling(4) 521 16.54 31.50 1.26 51 16.5 19.5 14.0/14.8 5/5
Therefore, if you want the Large Super Cooling Radiator with 51 rows of tubes, it will only come with 3.5 EcoBoost Max Tow or 6.2 Max Tow.

Not exactly, we were in my buddies diesel F-250 and did get a oil to coolant temp warning. This is due to his oil cooler needing to be cleaned/replaced nothing to do with an EB other than it did get my mind to wondering.

The build and price, order guide and brochures can say there is an upgraded radiator for the regular Tow Package, but that does not mean it is the same upgraded radiator found in the the Max Tow package.
According to the source book, only the Max Tow (5) gets the Super Cooling radiator with 51 rows.
3.5L V6 Standard 521 16.54 31.50 1.26 41 16.5 16.0 14.0/14.8 5/5

They can market the EcoBoost regular Tow Package radiator as "upgraded" in advertisements because it is better than the standard (non-trailer tow) radiator used in the 5.0 and 3.7.
However, if you want the largest radiator it says it is only available with the Max Trailer Tow Package.

For your EcoBoost regular Tow Package, the radiator you get is the same radiator used in the 3.7 and 5.0 tow packages.

There is only one radiator listed as super cooling for the ecoboost engine for 2011 and it costs ~$600. When I run the VIN for my truck at fordparts.com my radiator comes back to the super cooling radiator priced at ~$600. That tells me, the truck I have calls for the super cooling radiator (the only one availible for the 3.5l). The super cooling radiator for the 3.5l is not offered stock on the 3.7 or 5.0 engines. I only have the tow package, not max tow.
So to condense for 2011: There is a standard cooling radiator listed for the 3.7 and 5.0 engines costing ~$400. There is a radiator costing ~$415 listed as super cooling radiator for the 3.7 and 5.0 engines and standard cooling for the 3.5. There is also a super cooling radiator listed for the 3.5 that costs ~$600. I only have the tow pacakge and I have the ~$600 radiator. I have the super cooling radiator standard from the factory and I did not purchase the max trailer tow package.

The parts catalog at fordparts.com for a 2011 F-150 with ecoboost, lists two radiators. The regular cooling for the ecoboost, is the exact same price as the one listed as super cooling for the 3.7 and 5.0 litre engines at ~$415. Just for the record the standard cooling for the 3.7 and 5.0 engines costs ~$400.

First, comes up the standard radiator ford EcoBoost:
3.5L V6 Gas Dual Over Head Cam TIVCT ; With Standard Engine Cooling System for $413.63
Also listed:
3.7L 4V PFI V6 NA Gas ; With Super Engine Cooling System for $413.63
MOD 5.0L-4V Dual Over Head Cam SEFI NA ; With Super Engine Cooling System for $413.63
These Super Engine Cooling radiators for the 3.7 and 5.0 are the same as the above Stand Engine Cooling radiator for EcoBoost.
Then further on down is the super-cooling radiator:
3.5L V6 Gas Dual Over Head Cam TIVCT ; With Super Engine Cooling System for $601.68
So the FordParts.com site doesn't settle it. The website may include more than one radiator because they will all fit, but it will up to you decide which one it should be.

There is a lot to digest here. It clearly states that 51 rows of tubes is for Max Trailer Tow Package. Does the regular Trailer Tow also have 51 rows? I tend to doubt it because Ford would not have singled out in the source book that 51 rows is for the Max Tow Package.

Bluegreen--I think it is just a glitch in the system that is causing all of the options to be displayed. I had to run four or five VINs from dealer stock to finally find one that showed all of the options. When I ran those three or four I only received the equipment that was listed as supposed to be on the truck. Like Chris, when I run my own VIN I only receive the options I know are on my truck. Even with all of the options displayed it is actually clarifying the issue. Like you pointed out the Ecoboost with tow package has upgraded cooling. You just are using lawyer arguments that the verbiage is confusing, not too mention you're using a 2012 reference and most here are talking about 2011's. It is very simple. The standard cooling on the 2011 ecoboost is the same radiator as the upgraded cooling on the 3.7 and 5.0 engines, as stipulated by the fordparts.com. There is only one upgraded cooling on the 2011 ecoboost and it is the 51 row ~$600 radiator. Ford850 explained it very well and the way he explained it is supported by the fordparts.com site.

Ok. I just tried the fordparts.com website again and it is giving me mixed results.
First, I entered a VIN for a Max Tow EcoBoost and it only gave the EcoBoost Super Cooling radiator.
Next, I entered a VIN for a Trailer Tow EcoBoost, then it gave me all of the radiators.
Third, I entered a different VIN for a Max Tow EcoBoost and it gave me all of the radiators including the standard cooling for 3.7.
This is crazy.
