2009 and newer XL owners, does the cruise control trick still work
I have a 2005 XL and did the "swap out steering wheel and have dealership program the cruise into the PCM" trick and it has worked like a champ for 6+ years. I am considering buying an XL again, but do absolutely need cruise and none of the trucks on the lot have it. I also bought a leather wheel off of an Expedition and it is so nice.
I was wondering if this trick still worked and if anyone had done it. I remember when I did mine, the hardest part was actually getting the steering wheel off because the wheel puller I had didnt quite work on the F150 wheel.
It cost me $97 for the dealer to do their thing and $60 for the new wheel off ebay versus over $300 for the dealer to do it.
