You tube vids 6.2 versus EB

http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/10...ace-clips.html

Pretty cool clips.
Thought I would post this over here, it may have already been, two trucks are prety equal with the 6.2 looking like it has a little stronger top end.

Note - I thought was some cool vids, not intended to start some debate on which is better. Also, since I do not support street racing, so I am sure this was done on a closed course of some type with professional experts...

Impressive how an engine just over half the size holds its own against the 6.2. Would be interesting to see the 5.0 and a 5.4 thrown in just for giggles.

When the turbo's are spooled, not many OEM trucks will keep up.

I don't think any OEM trucks will keep up.

Hitch up a 10,000LB trailer behind each truck! Now that would be more interesting!

Its not like the EB would be murdered. It wouldn't be that bad. Off the line I still think the EB would beat it or it would hang in there due to the low end torque.

only a Ford 6.2
....a Chevy 6.2 and Yota 5.7 could hang right close but an ECO will cover them without any doubt!

....assuming comparison of apples to apples truck configurations!

15 psi of boost will do wonders to any engine big or small

I'm fairly surprised the EB held up so well. Not saying its not good, but on a butt dyno comparison of the 2 vehicles on my test drive, the 6.2 felt a decent bit more powerful. I imagine it's because the TQ comes on quite a bit different.

That is the exact reason. With the Ecoboost, the torque is there so soon, and the torque curve is so flat, that acceleration holds no drama. It is just a constant.

With a N/A modern V8, you start with little torque, and then it quickly revs up to the good usable torque. This will always create more of a sensation of speed.

When we drove the 2 EB trucks that we did, we floored them many times. There was so little sensation of speed, that we were shocked when we looked down and saw we were going over 90mph.

Butt dynos lie, especially if they are not correctly calibrated.

Yeah, I've seen that a million times......

Butt dyno's aren't worth

Feeling like you are going fast and sounding like you are going fast........doesn't always mean you are going fast!

The 6.2 feels more like my Subaru, probably why I liked it 1k nothing, 2k nothing, 2.5k nothing, 3k starting to feel it, 3.5k Super fun times had by all.

I've heard the 6.2 seriously needs a tune though, the throttle opening angle is VERY limited until you get to 4k. I'd like to see a video of both trucks tuned as well. I think the EB would have a superior advantage. (just a tune and possibly exhaust/intake)
