EcoBoost too quiet??
I am currently a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon owner and I am considering selling my Jeep and buying a pick-up truck. I am considering an F150 and a Tundra. I stopped by the Ford dealer tonight and looked at some F150 trucks, and most of them had the V6 Ecoboost engines. I really thought I wanted the 5.0 V8, for the power and sound. So was wondering if the V6 has any rumble or sound to it stock..and if not, is there an exhaust that would give it that. Or is the 5.0 V8 really the way to go?
Thanks in advance for any feedback.

The 5.0 is a great sounding motor in stock form and even more so with exhaust. The EB has a decent growl when flooring it, but remember it's still a V6. Aftermarket exhaust really open up the turbo sound at idle , but give that froggy sound at full throttle.
If it's power you want, go EB. The gains are huge just from cat backs (15-40 hp) and not to mention more powerful than the 5.0L in stock form.
So, you really need to figure out if you want a good running truck that sounds great, but won't match the turdra in performance, (5.0L). Or have a V6 with little growl and match or beat the turdra while getting better MPG (note: the 5.0 gets the same MPG as EB).

Like it or not, with big brother shoving fuel economy down people's throats and people wanting more and more power. Smaller displacement motors are the way of the future. If my wife would let me there would be a 2011 ecoboost in my driveway right now

I really must be getting old. I prefer the stock exhaust on all of those sound clips. Or it might be that I do not like to draw unwanted attention and loud pipes do draw attention. Last weekend I had to drive through an area with 10 cops standing around, the stock EB only has a small hint of turbo whistle and burble when driven softly. Those cops never even turned their heads.
