thats why i am asking...i dont know....

i figured i got a 4WHEEL drive truck,....isnt that enough??

so since I am not an expert of the differences between a regular 4X4 rear and limited slip, or an electronic locking rear.....I have come here to ask for advice...

right now my 02 Fx4 has a limited slip 3;73 rear. and i have never gottens tuck...but that doesnt tell me much about a regular rear end

So is that what you're looking at getting, a 4x4?

If so, those should have an elocker in the rear that's integrated with rsc and traction control.....

I live on Long Island and when Ford went to 0% financing the F-150s flew out the door. I was shown the dealers inventory book and trucks coming in until the end of this year and no one had the truck I wanted. Dealers were fighting to keep what they had in stock and getting their numbers they wanted. They came down but not to invoice.

Good grief - get what truck you want and if it DOESN'T have a LS or locker you can ALWAYS PUT ONE IN LATER if you are not happy with the traction.

tells you he wants it all financed!

after I balked..about invoice the manager got involved and blew some steam and talked about "ill show you my real cost" and he went online and looked it up and printed a page..pulls it off the printer...then... FOLDS the bottom 1/5th and goes over to the copier and makes a copy...and gived me the copy that doesnt show me what was on the folded section!! then tells me he is "TRASPARENT"....

I said... you dont have to be ashamed of making money, but you do about lying

the DEALER INVOICE was 34,400...the paper said...

they never moved and i didnt offer anything.. I just left.

later I emailed the salemans and I offered $33,500

thats were we left the negotiation..so i think he is still at 35,200 which is a lousy 2,400 off MSRP!!!!!!!! we emailed each other about "below invoicing pricing" ..they wont do it...and we havent communicated in 2 days.

but i was going with the notion from a previous thread, that i should get the truck somewhere below dealer invoice

I see internet sales on xlts at 29,999 for trucks that MSRP at 36,800

they have to get down that low some how other than incentives and cash backs...

soooo the regular rear end is a dog or no??

bob
i sent you a PM one what i paid for mine, you want to be around 30k + TTL overall IMO on a 37-38k sticker with the 2012's about to hit the lots.

as for the rear end, it's your call. if it is the truck you want and you can get it for a price you are happy i'd get it. adding a LS or locker later on is no big deal and can be done cheap.

if you want a little less BS, contact internet sales and deal with them. they are there to move inventory and usually will get closer to around invoice.

as for financing, take the rebate from ford on it if it's a ****ty interest rate go and get it re-financed thru your credit union and pay off the loan at the 1st month. there are no penalties for early pay off IIRC
