New Truck 2011 Race Red XLT 4x4 Supercrew
After about 7 years of driving Chevy trucks I've come back to where I started, a Ford truck and I can't be happier.
I opted for the 5.0 with 3.73 rear end. I've spent so much time on here reading lately I had a pretty good idea what Mods I wanted to do first.
First stop at roughly 6 miles I put on some 295x70x17 Nitto Terra Grapplers for now on the stock rims. I wanted just enough tire to fill the fender wells without getting crazy. At 42 I've been there done that with the big lift and big noisy mud tires. I must be getting old cause I'm wanting something a little more conservative now!
Well maybe I'm not that old..yet! After about a week of driving around listening to the stock stereo I decided I wasn't gonna be able to leave that alone as originally planned. Is it just me or are they really that bad?
So after hours more of reading all the audio threads I had an idea of what I wanted to do. I wanted to use the stock deck and just add some speakers, amps and subs while not spending a ton of money.
Here is what I used:
Kicker zx400.1 w/bass **** for subs
2 Rockford Fosgate R2S shallow 10"
2 pair of Infinity Kappa 682.9 door speakers
1 pair of Rockford Fosgate P1T-S Tweeters in pillars
Rockford Fosgate P400-4 for the highs
I have to say I was a little skeptical about using the RF shallow subs, but it turned out great. The whole system puts out all the sound I could ever want.
Next on the list of things to do is the Bilstein leveling shocks to get rid of the nose down stance a spray in bedliner and at some point some rims. I'm reading everything I can to make sure I make a good decision on the rims. I don't want the tires sticking out very far so I'm paying attention to width, offset and backspacing when looking.
Now back to work so I can pay for this stuff!!!

Congrats on the new truck!
I picked up my 2011 Black Lariat 4x4 Scab 6.5' bed 2 weeks ago - and I'm loving it! While I won't be modding the truck, it did come with a spray-in bed liner, which is AWESOME, as well as running boards.
I opted for the Sony nav system to avoid having to go aftermarket - I really like SYNC and Ford's navigation system, and the sound quality is fine.
Enjoy!
