I dinged up my tailgate enough on my 2010 FX4 that the body shop is saying they have to replace the entire thing.

I found one on craigslist that matches my truck but doesn't have the backup camera. Is this something I can pull from my current tailgate and install in the new one? Has anyone does anything like this?

Btw, I'm new to the site and not familar with it yet. I tried searching and didn't find anything. Thanks in advance!

 

just need to use your old tail gate handle where the camera is mounted or the emblem if it's there instead.

 

You won't have to get a new camera but you might have to get some more double sided adhesive tape for the emblem.....https://www.f150online.com/forums/20...blem-done.html

You don't have to mod the tailgate at all. Everything is ready to accept the camera. You will have to buy a new emblem because you cannot get them off with out breaking the tabs. They are cheap... under 20 bux. I changed the tailgate on mine with a step gate with no camera. Everything bolted right in no mods whatsoever.
