Ecoboosters with 3.73 rear end, what MPG are you getting?
I'm looking for some input about "real life" everyday fuel economy from Ecoboost owners with the 3.73 rear end. 4x2 or 4x4 doesn't matter, but I'm not interested in mileage figures while hauling full loads or towing boats, etc., just around town figures please. Thanks in advance!

Well, here is my take, I have xlt 5.5bed 4x4 off road with 3.73,
When i tow my 25' travel trailer I get 9 to 10 miles per gallon with 93 oct.
When not towing if i fill and drive arounnd town it's like 14-16 tops. I f i fill and reset and hit the highway i get as much as 21, then around town after highway by the time i hit empty its around 17. Keep in mind these numbers are only if i drive like a grandpa.....i have not reset trip B since i had the truck 13,500 and my overall avg is 15.

2011 Supercrew 4X4 with the Offroad Package (3.73 rearend), 2-inch leveling system and 33-inch MTs. I have 2700 miles on the odometer so far, and the dealer reprogrammed my PCM for the larger tires.
My mileage basically sucks; 11.9 mpg if I do any occassional spirited driving to a best of 13.2 mpg if I drive like an old lady in the City. Highway mileage is usually in the high 13s to mid-14s range as our speed limits here are 65 mph up to 75 mph on the open highway.
So I am not getting anything close to what Ford advertises. Even with the lift and larger tires and deducting 2-3 mpg and reprogramming the PCM, I was expecting to get around 17-18 mpg Highway which would have been fine by me. But they must have tested the EcoBoost at 55 mph because if you go the speed limit at 65-75 mph the gas mileage is a joke. My lifted 5.4L with 35-inch MTs could get 14 mpg.
I should have gotten the Raptor.

"Driving to school in my 2011 ecoboost screw 4x4 with 3.73. Some hills but mostly flat road.
No tail wind. (At 65 mph.) Getting 25 mpg."

I think if you ask about the mileage with a specific setup up you have to also ask about other considerations like the terrain (flat, hills, mountsins, etc), urban environment (frequency of stop lights, etc), driving style, repetitive commuting, fuel blend and of course modifications.
There are so many variables that if you just look at individual posts about mileage there are some wild fluctuations, I have taken all the mileage reports with a big grain of salt. I have tried to lately talk with owners local to me to get more relevant data for my decision. This has shown me that the mileage difference between a raptor 6.2 an FX4 EB and an FX4 5.0 is negligible at best here in my local market.

I'm only on my second tank. 4X4 Screw, 6.5' bed, Off road, Max tow, 3.73 e-locker, stock 18 inch wheels. I have no choice - I have to drive like Grandma. Around town it is all stop and go, mostly stop. Often times I sit through 2 or even 3 changes of the light before I can get through, only to have the same thing happen at the next one. Rarely can you go more than a 1/4 [edit] mile [end edit] without having to stop for a traffic signal, stop sign, or someone turning in front of you. I'm getting about 13-14 with the EB. Yes, I've romped on it a couple of times but not much opportunity to do so. Same setup in the old truck with the 5.4L and 3.73LS I got about 11.5 around town hand calculated. The old 2003 RAM with the hemi never met a gas station it didn't like and used to get single digit mileage around town. I'll be making a trip to Florida soon, so it will be interesting to see the trip mileage. I keep a spreadsheet that I use on every fillup that calculates mileage and overall mileage. So far those numbers match the lie-o-meter numbers, but as I said I'm only on my second tank.
