So I got in the Painting mood and painted my tailgate center satin black to match my hood and be even with the taillights(like the platinum tailgate) Took it to the store and some idiot decides to key up my tailgate... the part I just painted today :-/ oh well, Im still not 100% done with it. Still need to do the gloss black parts on the small lines on top, middle and bottom to match the taillights.

i like it a lot especially with the red truck but the F150 emblem and handle needs something those just dont mesh with the flow i guess not sure what to change with them or why they look off but they just stand out just my .02.......maybe need something on the opposite side of the F150 emblem to give it some symetry?? I have been eye balling the 4x4 emblems that are on the 07ish explorers and sportracs to for my truck but mine are tinted with actual cleat coat and i lost my body guy connection so to match what is already done will be difficult

It looks really good. Painting the inside of the "F150" text Red would look amazing.

 

It's kinda odd. Do you have any plans on carrying the theme down the side of the truck? It needs something more to tie it all in. Why Satin? Maybe if you cleared it and gave it the shine it deserves. Seems a little out of place. I'm not a fan of the look of the platinum gates either though. Might just be part of my problem.

I'm thinking maybe something along these lines, but wit a narrower band to match the gate.

Not really feeling that two tone at all but thanks for your opinion. I sanded it, taped it, sprayed black, then mixed my clear cost with a mattening agent. It loses its shine over 3 hours

 

OP, looks good. I vote do the f-150 letters red as well, and paint the tail lights to get rid of the white line around them

yeah, I would think about doing the trim on the lights to tie it together. Still gets a thumbs up from me
