EB! Wish i did last December when i bought my 2010 5.4, but didnt feel like the 7K$ increase was worth it for the 2011 EB at the time.

I just bought a gently used 09 FX4 5.4 with 38k miles on it. I mostly drive in town and only live about 4 miles from work. Only mod to the truck is dual exhaust and maybe flowmaster mufflers. I am getting a shocking 9-11 mpg. I gave up my 05 Wrangler mostly because of the terrible gas mileage but it never got this bad. Going to have to take it back to the dealer to figure out WTF is wrong.
Other than the mileage I love it.

My 2011 2WD Lariat with 5.0 engine and 3.55 axle gets 19-21 MPG on a highway trip at 65-70 MPH, and 15-17 MPG around town (suburbs and freeway).

I'm not sure how it ever got a 17 MPG city rating by the EPA. And the highway mileage is affected big-time by wind speed.

Went with a buddy truck shopping last week.
Test drove an EB crew 4x4 that was a demo it was showing an overall avg of 16.1mpg with 3500 miles on it .

Then test drove same truck only with a 5.0 also a Demo with 3200 miles on it and the 5.0 was averaging 15.8mpg

My truck is also a 2011 in the same configuration but has the 6.2L and has 4000 miles on it and its average is 14.1mpg.

I have a 2wd 5.0L reg cab long bed with 10 ply tires and a tommy gate. Its been averaging 16.8 mpg, and it has 11,000 miles on it.

I also have same config 2wd 11 same setup only it has the 3.7L and its avg mpg is 16.5mpg. but only has 2500 miles on it.

So far of all the trucks I own personal and business, and or have driven. I like to drive my 6.2L the best, but for all around mpgs and performance I am partial to the 5.0L out of all the new motors.

2011 SuperCrew 4x4 with Ecoboost running 3.55LS. Truck average at 4,000 miles is 18.2. Normal MPG on daily commute is in 19 MPG. Its mostly all rural roads with cruise control at 60-65 with some weekend boat towing. I love my Ecoboost!

I am about to do a 1800 mile trip up and down the east coast during the holidays. I'll post the mileage results of that when I get back. I expect mid 18s overall. Cross the fingers and stay out of the turbos!

Non-ethanol blend fuel and perfect test conditions. I received 20.1 mpg (5000 miles on odo) in the rolling hills between AR and TX with cruise set at 70 mph and using E10 Shell gas. I can get 17.9 - 18.2 mpg in the city with E10 Shell while driving conservatively, tire pressure at 37 psic. These calculations are with basic math and not the avg. computer.

True dual exhaust w/Flowmaster's?
What brand and octane fuel?
Is the air filter dirty?
What tire pressure are you running?
Oversized tires?
Lift kit?
Any Jackrabbit start and stops?

dang you are doing better than me. My trip 2 also hasn't been reset and it's 18.3 mpg which coincides with my fuely mpgs. I have hauled a trailer a few times so that drops the mileage to 16ish. Also my best so far is 19.7 on a few occasions and i'm at 13,000 miles now.

here's my last few fillups.
