Thanks for the reply jswd60. I agree HP to dollar ratio the 5star kit is the way to go and in my opinion less intrusive to the engine. I will be calling 5star to place my order. Did you have to buy new gaskets or miscellaneous hardware or was everything included in the kit?

It should be o-ringed, not gaskets, which are re-usable if they are in undamaged condition.

No stock works fine. stock is 80mm, the bbk is 85mm, and ford racing is 90mm. I haven't seen any results with the mustangs, so I dont know if 5 star will try it or not.

I cant find the artice online but its the January 2012 5.0mustang and super ford p.60 if anyone subscribes
Its a vortech(I thought it was a procharger)The boss and pulley swap makes 87 more hp and 72 more tq over the stock intake vortech.
Comparing to a roush with a pulley and throttle body the roush obvisously makes more hp/tq up to about 5000 rpm which is way higher than I would drive.

They both make more tq at 2000rpm than a stock truck does at any level so thats awesome. Both make more hp at 3000 rpm than a stock truck at redline.
Both are great options and make super power. Now you have me kinda wanting a roush and doing alot of bolt ons to it, but I also want the procharger with the boss. At least I have a couple years to decide.

Everything is in the kit. I believe there are the little rubber gaskets already on the boss intake. When you get it let me know, I have a few little pointers that will make install easier.

Also if your not in a hurry and want to save a few bucks I bought mine on a labor day sale and saved $50. He may have a christams sale towards the end of the month. I got mine for about $1200 shipped. Saved $50

Sounds like some good info. I wouldn't touch the BBK TB with a ten foot pole though. From my previous experience with Mustangs. The BBK TBs always have a problem with the modular motors. They can never get it right it seems like. OEM and FRPP are the only options IMO.

Good to know on bbk. I hear its hit or miss.
I'm going to do whatever mike does. If he gets the Ford racing and gains are good I will. The thing I like about mike is that he has same truck and he tests things out for us 5.0 guys. It's always good for your tuner to drive same truck as you.

Thanks again for all the info. I'll try to hold off for a sale.

I found one for $200. The boss I found for $400 Is it worth the price difference??

Does the Cold Air intake with a tune improve MPG at all? To me it would be worth the expense if I could get 2mpg more loaded or unloaded. Otherwise, the stock 5.0 is powerful enough..
