5.0L Boss Intake

Does anyone have a dyno graph of a Boss intake manifold installed on their 5.0L F150? Before would be amazing as well. Custom tuning, cold air intake, exhaust is all fine. Just want to see what the curve is like when adding the Boss intake manifold. I'm just wondering if it's going to move the power curve up so much that I won't like it. Tried to search and just received an error?

I haven't seen any info yet, but I think you might be better off with the standard mustang intake, not the boss intake. Check the mustang boards, I bet you can find a take off intake cheap.

Nasty, there are dyno's on 5star's site. Right here ------> http://5startuning.com/onlinestore/e...plus-tune.html on the pics that you will see in the link, hit the little scroll arrow to see more pics, and voila.

These are the images from 5star's site.

that's with their tune as well isn't it?

I remember looking into this, I thought it only showed about a 5 hp increase which would help you break the 300 hp mark at the wheels after a tune.

Do you have any link to someone doing this? We're both on the same page right? Intake manifold?

That's enlightening and good to see. Thanks for the info.

I have the boss. It's awesome. Well worth the $$$
I think 5star looked at the mustang intake and said it looked similar.

Similar to the one on the truck? Yeah it should be quite similar with shorter runners.

I ran the heater hose over the top instead of cutting it and running it under the throttle body.

Heres a little review

Power=Awesome!!!
It made my exhaust sound better above 2000 rpm
Mileage is up in the air. I have a lawn mowing business so I pull a trailer all the time. My mileage has gone up but it's also winter and I'm not pulling as much so it may be different driving conditions that caused the increase.
Pulling the trailer was easy stock. Now its even easier, I can make passes alot easier.
Ask any questions. I would be glad to help.

Now you have done it

Did you order from 5star with the SCT tuner or is this just the manifold/CAI?

Was it a PITA to install?

I have been looking at the 5star kit while waiting for the Eforce SC to be released for the 5.0. With the few reviews of the Boss intake and tune, It just may be the better option for my needs.

Yeah I got intake cai and tune from 5star (he's the man)

Install wasn't bad at all. I took old stuff off one night got fedex packages the next day and installed that night. Once I got the package I called 5star and he had my tune to me the next morning. I called at 4pm on a Friday night, so thats awesome service.

I was originally wanting a roush or eforce sc, but I subscribe to mustang magazines and the boss intake and a procharger makes crazy power.

I love the roush and eforce but the roush
http://www.stage3motorsports.com/pro...---w-Tune.html
claims 113 hp 75 tq for $6000
For 1200 you can get the boss kit and 5star says about 50hp/50tq
another 1500 He just put headers on on 87 octane (93 coming soon!!!) 18hp/25ishtq
I bet 93 tune gets another 5-10/5-10
3-600There is still maybe a throttle body as a bolt on without going heads and cams that may be worth 10/10
total thats a 80 ish hp 90 ish tq gain for around $3000. those numbers may not be right but for half the price of a supercharger and the ability to still use them when procharger comes out with something that will make WAY more power than the roush or eforce, thats the way I'm leaning.

Nice to see someone who has it. Now does the TB sit in the OEM location meaning can you use any 2011 cold air intake for it?

Also, just my opinion from the sounds of it... I would stay away from the Procharger. Personally I would never put a Procharger / Vortech / Paxton on a truck. The TVS is an insane supercharger. It would suit the F150 very well. VMP Tuning's 2011 Mustang 5.0 ran 9s with the TVS, OEM motor (stock heads, cams, etc). The power curve of the TVS is insane. Here is my 2008 Mustang GT with the Roush TVS running 11 lbs, stock motor, untouched.

Here are the throttle bodies that he may try. We talked about this several months ago so I dont know his plans

yes they will fit just like the factory ones.

As far as the roush its awesome and makes great power down low, but I can already roast the tires. I am just looking to add to what I currently have unless I could find someone to buy my boss kit down the road and not take too big of a hit $$ wise. The procharger makes less down low, but still more than stock, then up top it blows the roush away. On mustangs a procharger going to stock intake vs going into the boss intake is 50 more hp/tq. Now most of that is in the upper rpm but it already makes way more power than I need now.
$$$ wise I could get a procharger tuner kit and still use everything I already have for cheaper than the roush. But I wont do anything until warranty is gone so I have time to toss ideas around

Are you saying the OEM TB won't work with the Boss intake? .. or you just saying those will also work?

As far as the TVS it peaks around 18 lbs of boost and than you're overspinning the system. I really think the TVS is underestimated. 530 rwhp with no other performance mods on 11 lbs of boost on a stock 4.6L 3V is damn insane. It lasted 3+ years as well until I just sold it.

I agree the Procharger is a beast but the only time I'll ever have a Procharger is if it's a F1, etc on a drag car that I only care about going down the track fast. JMO though.
