what is different about CA emission system on '11 5.0L

I'm considering trading my '05 FX4 supercrew for a '11 with a 5.0 and noticed that some of the trucks come with California emissions. does anyone know how this is different? I'm thinking it's probably engine tune and maybe a different cats? I noticed this on several vehicles in dealer inventories in the Carolinas so I thought it was strange. typically vehicles are 50 state emission compliant by design.

Im not 100% sure. But i was told that its the same emission sytems, just that the California emission models have had there emissions tested to make sure they meet California standards.

yes thanks. I did a little more research myself and I believe the CA emissions certified vehicles are individually tested or certified with a much smaller sample size. so now I'm off deciding how long to wait for the 2011's to turn into 1 year old pumpkins before they all sell. LOL
