oil catch cans in 3.7

Bought a F-150 XLT 3.7 . Any one using oil catch cans with this engine? If so which side do you have it installed on? Reason I ask that is on the 4.6 mustang the oil would always come up the driver side, passenger side was always dry.Any info will help. Thanks.

I wish I had an answer for you. There are only a handful of people with the 3.7 in an F150 here.

To be honest, I had to do a search to find out what a catch can was. The couple of minutes that I took to research them tells me that it wouldn't hurt. It may make more sense on a Mustang, but if you plan on hot rodding around in the F150, it seems like it would have the same advantages.

If it makes an improvement, in the quality of combustion air, and, based on one artical I glanced at, in power output, it's a reletively inexpensive, unobtrusive mod.

That's my $.02.

Welcome to F150 Online!

Tanks Wittom, I run breathers on my Mustang now that its supercharged. I had the catch can on the 4.6 and would dump oil from it every 500 miles or so with just normal driving. I have to think the 3.7 will do the same thing. I have seen an engine opened up with and without a catch can system and there is a world of difference between the two.
