6 inch BDS + 2inch AS question..
Im putting together things and getting ready to order wheels and tires for my truck yet again. I already know Im going with a 37x13.5x18 Mickey Thompson ATZ..
Now my question is this: BDS recommends 18x9 5.5" BS wheels for the 37's to clear, but since Im adding a 2 inch level on top take away the rake can I use a wheel with 5" BS instead? Id like them to stick out as much as possible and I wont have an opportunity to test fit before I buy since I wont be able to just drive it lifted on the stock 17s to Discount Tire.
Keep in mind also that I don't mind cutting black plastic.

I have the bds 6" with no level kit. I have a 5" BS wheel with 325/60/20 goodyear duratracs. They rub the backsides of the front fenders when ever I turn and hit a bump. I had to modify the sheet metal and pull back the plastic inner fender. It helped a lot but I still do rub when I make a turn and hit a big incline. I also rub the front bumper rate at the metal corner. I can take some pics if i make no sense. The key is getting the right BS. I can deal with the slight rubbing because I think it is the perfect size tire with enough sticking out past the fenders.

does the 09+ bds 6" kit still use a spacer like my 07's did? if so you need bilsteins to get 2 more inches. For the rear you will need an AAL, larger block, or new leafs.
why can't you drive the stock wheels on it to discount? that's how they did mine when i had it lifted.

The BDS uses a 5" rear block so there's a 1" rake. And they use struts not spacers so I could throw a 1.5-2" spacer on. I've emailed BDS about this and they say 37x13.5 will clear with no rubbing on a 5.5" backspace wheel but I was thinking the extra lift up front would allow me a half inch wider without much rubbing. And I don't mind cutting a little off the front bumper and fenders, but I'd rather not cut metal. I managed to cram 35's on my last truck with only a 2.5" level and cut a little plastic. But like I said I can't take chances since I would have to put the new wheels and tires on as soon as the lift goes on because BDS won't clear factory 17s.
