Trans Temp Gauge Behaviour

Just wondering if this is normal behaviour.

2011 EcoBoost
Engine and trans are at normal operating temperature. Shut engine off and turn key back on or start engine again and it takes up to 2 or 3 minutes for trans temp gauge to return to the "normal" operating range.

Does everyones gauge act this way?

I have noticed the same thing with mine too, I have a 5.0 but I don't think that matters... I just go by the reading on the productivity screen, that trans-temp gauge has a mind of it's own.
