New 2012 Ecoboost!

Hey guys traded in my 2004 fx4 crew for a 2012 xlt black crew and eco boost going to post pics when I get some time. All I can say is wow what a difference from the 5.4!

Yeah the old truck was a good truck it was just time to upgrade. Only thing I hate about it is I'm just waiting for the first scratch. lol

Congrats. I made a similar move last year when I went from my 2005 5.4 Scab to a 2011 EB Screw. The difference in power was night and day. I loved my 2005, but my 2011 just made it feel so underpowered.

I know what you mean about that first scratch too. I got mine on a warm July afternoon at the grocery store. Normally I park at the end of the lot away from other cars, but I was just running in for a second to grab a case of suds and a bag of chips for a company picnic, and decided to risk parking up close. Sure enough, I come back out to find a red ding in my front passenger side door. No big deal, really, as 5 minutes with some light sand paper and a paint patch kit from Shucks removed it, but it was still traumatic at the time.

Enjoy that EB, and don't be afraid to go with midgrade or higher. She'll reward you with better acceleration and mileage.

Congrats on the new wheels. I just picked up my 2012 5.0 FX4 this afternoon and can't believe the difference between it and my 06 5.4 FX4

I entered this is another thread, then was reading this one, sorry but if you guys could help me out. Thanks.

I ordered a new 2012 ecoboost, Lariat SuperCrew, 4X4, 145 wheelbase shortbed. I got the Lariat package, chrome package, center console/shifter, and also upgraded to the Sony 700W stereo, I didn't do the trailer brake. Ordered Nov 28th timeframe, it's showing arrival date of the week of Jan 16th. Waiting is killing me but that's another story. I did have a couple of questions for everyone:

What kind of 'real' gas mileage are folks seeing with the ecoboost?

Does anyone know for sure that my shortbed will have a standard 36gal fuel tank? I hear conflicting stories because it's the 145 wheelbase.

Any input would be great while I'm waiting. Thanks.

What do you need to track it? I tried one site but Ford told me if it's not a 'fleet' truck it won't work? What do you need?

I only have 300 miles on mine and I'm averaging 18.5 in mixed around town driving.

Any Ecoboost 4X4 has the 36 gallon gas tank. My 2012 has a 36 gallon tank. It's a 145" FX4.
