Sorry if this has been posted before but i'm looking to add some bark to my 2011 fx4 5.0, Right now I have the stock exhaust with a resenator but no muffler, thinking about cutting the resenator out and adding a super 10 or a cherrybomb extreme? What you guys think?? Thanks!!

 

How bad is the drone without the oem muffler? Maybe an 18" Magnaflow, 19" Borla Pro XS or a Dynomax VT muffler.

 

You can put about anything on it that you want to, if you are just changing the muffler. It all depends how much drone you want to listen too while cruising down the highway. Most straight through mufflers are going to have some drone to them. If you add echo tubes on the ends, it will make it worse.

I have had several different setups over the years, and I finally just quit doing anything to them, because I like it quiet when I am cruising at 80 for 4 hours at a time. Guess I am getting old.

 

Ya i'm 22 so i'm all about being an annoying punk! Drone doesnt bother me so much. I mainly just want noise when I hit the loud pedal

 

Im puttin a 40349 Borla muffler on my 2011 5.0 reg cab on monday. I am going to leave the stock res on cause i dont want to much drone

 

Ive done a few Magnaflow dual kits on trucks at the dealership on both the 5.0 and 6.2L trucks and they sound good

 

Does the maggy kit keep the factory res on a 5.0 truck? and how big is the muffler in the kit.

 

I have Banks cat back and it sounds really good on my 5.0

 

ya in a perfect world i'd like the borla atak cat back but for $1000 its wayy to much

That SW kit looks nice... Definitely on my wants list when I come up with the cash

 

I just gotta figure out if not running cats will throw codes

 

im happy with my MBRP exhaust. really sounds good when getting on it in M mode.

 

It eliminate everything after the cats on the 5.0L and im not sure on the size of the muffler I will have to look tomorrow at work

 

If you want ear piercing loud i got the borla atak system....worth every penny!!!
