Know this has been asked before....

but why is the STX the only trim level that doesn't offer the SuperCrew? I was flipping through the dealership brochure last night, and it just irks me...

I suppose I'll have to go FX2 next time

Because if they offered a crew cab people would cross shop it too much against the FX2/FX4. Product differentiation......

I don't recall seeing a SuperCrew in an XL trim level either.

Unless they stopped, they started offering it in 2008 IIRC.

how would the stx be in comparison with a fx2/fx4? it's a trim level below the xlt (barely after available options), my guess is the price difference is nearly none between the stx and xlt where it's not worth offering it.

At the local dealerships here in MS and TN, comparably equipped STXs and XLTs are at least $4-5K different in price, and for me that is a decent bump. There is an even larger difference between the STX and FX2, the closest comparable trim, cosmetically.

Gerrard, there are quite a few differences between the STX and FX series, namely the availability of a Flow Through console, SuperCrew, and heated/cooled seats, so I don't know that it would cause cross-trim confusion.

Or HD trucks and Platinums, either. Setchan found that out the hard way....
