Fx2 vs fx4 i need some help

Hi everyone. I'm a new member and about to purchase my first real truck. I've owned suvs before. I've been looking at f150s and I want an ecoboost. I like the fx trim BC of the shifter is in the center. But I can't decide if I should suck up the extra cash and get a fx4 or a fx2. How important is it to really have 4to wheel drive? I'm in north east Ohio. I think I'd prefer a 4new wheel but the price of the fx2 is much more appealing. Please help. Thanks

Put it this way; I had a 2010 FX2 for 1 year and traded it on for a 2011 FX4.. I will never buy a 2wd again...

anywhere there is snow get the 4x4. If you have to get rid of a few of the not needed options. If it came down to 4x4 and a leather or something, function over looks anydays. Really whats the sense of getting a FX2 my as well get an XL or XLT in 2WD

Like nards444 said....if you get snow during the year get a 4x4. I had a 2wd in the snow and it's not fun. Got my 4x4 and took it through a untouched 15" of snow with zero problems. Don't go 2wd

If you really think about it your paying a premium for a shifter in the middle, body painted grill and different rims. If thats what you want, but personally I would rather have 4WD than a 2wd. Like I said I dont know where you live in OH. But if you get snow regularly good luck on resale of a 2wd.

I have no regrets with the 2WD vehicles I've owned. But I'm in DFW. If you can afford the extra cash you'll prevent yourself from having any regret of missing the 4WD every time it snows.

If you are up in Northeast Ohio, I wouldn't buy a vehicle that wasn't 4x4. You all get some pretty serious lake effect snow.

I just bough a 2011 FX4 4x4 with the 5.0 last month. There are some good deals out there on the 2011 models. While I would have liked to have the Ecoboost, but got a much better deal on the 5.0.

I mean you dont use 4x4 all the time in the snow its there when you need it and get stuck. really for what cost and what gives you its nice to have. But again if you live down south I would really think over needing 4x4 or not

You know you can get the same truck in an XLT for about 4 grand cheaper if money is an issue. To be honest in five years 4x4 is going to hold more value than things like a center counsel shifter and such,

some people like different things, that's why the offer multiple packages. The center console shift was part of the reason i went fx4 as well. Once you spec out similar options between the models prices aren't too far off each other.

I understand and buy what you like. But sometimes people get confused or wrapped up on certain badging and dont realize the truth of things. If say x option is 500 bucks more and thats what you want go for it. I was just pointing out that the OP could get a 4x4 in nearly the same truck for less than what he is currently specing out.

Get the 4X4! This is not a hard decision.
