Two tone options for FX4s

Why did Ford do away with the two tone option for FX4s after 2009?

I share your dismay. I really liked the two-tone FX4s (and I'm not usually a fan of two-tone).

I also wish they would bring back yellow for the FX4. I think it would look great with the new bodystyle.

Maybe they'll bring back the two-tone next year as they're doing more minor updates.

I really liked my previous two-tone FX4 and was upset Ford discontinued it for 2011.

It's BS. I had a '03 charcoal/white FX4 Screw. Loved it. They had the two tone in '09, but not in '10. Weird.

I did my own version of two-tone on my 2011 FX4...

Sterling gray over matte black.

^^^Looks good! Thought about doing the bumpers and grille insert in matte black too?

Definitely would like to do the grille in matte black. And the trim around the front Ford oval is the only bit of visible chrome left on the truck and needs to be dealt with.

Bumpers would be nice, but probably difficult to have wrapped in the 1080 vinyl, and properly painting is probably a bit too much work. I guess I could try plasti-dip painting them.

I also thought it might look good with the entire hood matte black, and continue it on the roof.

Two-tone is a terrible option!

I never liked two tone on the 04-10's, BUT on the 99-03's I thought it looked alright.

A monotone paint scheme is the only way to go, I think Ford agrees when it comes to the FX series of trucks

Hey now, if I HAD to have a two tone it would be the white/dsg combo, it was the sharpest of them all.

I have been trying to figure that out for a while now... My only thought is it was someone's last act of defiance, knowing it would go to production and they where leaving anyway On the FX2 I can justify the stripe if it was black; but on the FX4 it has no place.

But in all seriousness, it looks much better in person. Take away the stripe and it's even better. I'll probably be buying one soon solely for the interior, then swapping for the gunmetal wheels and grille plus the regular old' black plastic flares. Call me crazy.. It just depends on what the dealer is willing to do in the coming weeks.

But of course!

hehe....seriously, I totally agree with you on the newest FX4 appearance package as that stripe just doesn't work for me either.
