Heres my SHUDDER story

My truck has 3000kms on it, and from day one, I have noticed a slight shudder when accelerating from a stop. Usually its gone by the time the truck shifts into second gear. The truck has no LS rear end, just locking diff, which is OFF. The sensation is almost like having big knobby tires on and at less than 10km/hr you can feel the rubble in the tire thread.

I don't notice it when decelerating or when comming to a stop. All I can think of is the carrier bearing in the driveshaft.

Any other theories? I have the truck in the shop today for other warranty work and mentioned this to have looked at. I have no faith in my Authorized Ford Dealer and don't expect it fixed today. Id like to have some ammo when I go to pick er up.

Thanks.

Could be a flat spot on the tires from the truck sitting over night.

nope, sorry that wouldn't be it. Shudder is higher pitched than a flatspot would produce. Happens well after Ive been driving.

I would try the carrier bearing in the drive shaft. See if Ford will lube the drive shaft components. I had that problem with my 2005 screw and there was a tsb on the drive shaft. They used teflon lube and it solved the problem.

Ford Just called me, they could not find anything wrong with the stuck to justify the shudder, NO SURPRISE. Mechanic said there was ice up around the gearbox.

TOTAL BS. I said the shudder was there all along, but it fell on def ears. Oh well, can I lube the carrier bearing myself?
