NEW FX4 stickers off ebay

Not happy about the install,

when I took the stickers off, glue was left on the box, I used a heatgun to warm it up. The passenger side was much easier. Placing the new stickers on left airbubbles under that I had to use a pin ***** and heat gun to minimize. Also the sticker had a white haze from air underneath. The temp was only 2 degrees celcius out, which didn't help im sure, but the heatgun should have fixed that problem.

The stickers were not the exact same size, they were a bit smaller than the OEM. I used the heatgun to fix the white haze by rubbing and heating. I heated too much and ended up scratching the sticker and smearing part of the FX4 outline. After much rubbing the sticker is mostly on transparently. But nothing like the OEM. That was clear as glass.

Anyway, heres the pics. I might order another set and do it right this summer. Maybe use a solution under the sticker for better adherance.

The easiest way to install decals is using window tint method.. Get a spray bottle and put 1 to 2 drops of dish soap inside and fill it with water. This becomes a slip solution and you spray it on the truck and put the decal on, Then you can use a tint squeegee to smooth out the bubbles. Normally work from center to the edge and you will get all of the bubbles out.

these were advertised as authentic ford stickers, but u can see they are not cut around the X and 4 like the OEM, these are just rectangle.

I did mine wet like that, but I used a bondo spreader (new). Came out awesome. Did it my nice and dry 70f garage.

Mine are the nicer 2012.

Did these last week with the advice of a couple of members.

Thank you.

I was VERY nervous about doing this, I have a thread on here about it were I harassed LOL several very nice members for advice. I measured several times, went to a lot after hours to get measurements you name it.

Did it the wet method way.

I don't like the 2012 stickers compared to the 2011 black ones I got. They look like the fx4 sticker on the 04-08 model f150. Seems uninspiring
