2012 EcoBoost Intake

I have been searching around this forum and the web for the best Cold Air Intake on the market for these EB's and nothing is really jumping out at me... Airaid doesn't have one for the 2012 (Has to do with the MAP vs MAF, correct me if I am wrong). I want to stay away from K&N, I am wanting a dry filter set-up. So that leaves me with Injen and aFe. Injen really only offers one kit while aFe offers two. I am leaning towards aFe's Stage II kit. Does anyone have any experience with this intake on the EB and what are your impressions? I also want to hear about other intakes that owners have installed and how they feel about them. I am wanting to bring the turbo's to life a bit more and if I gain some improvement in HP/TQ/MPG I won't complain. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

Your best bet will be stock. It has more flow than you will need and will filter the best. Save your money and time, fuel prices are still rising, you will need the cash.

Well if I stay stock, how about swapping out the filter?

Aftermarket filters are the issues, the usually don't filter as well and on a turbo'd vehicle they can cause more harm than good. Usually the stock filter flows WAY MORE than needed

I'm not saying don't do it, just do your research and don't cheap out

That is one of my concerns with doing it, if I do anything I want to do it the right way. I will keep searching.....

Just a friendly reminder, if the warranty on the engine is important to you, ANY modifcation COULD POSSIBLY cause issues should there be an engine problem. Personally, I think this will be even more so with the EB.

Warranty is important.... I guess I could go to a different stock filter, like Amsoil Dry or something... but will it really make a difference??? Anyone running some different filter they like?

This is what happens when I am stuck at my fiance's place and bored.... I start thinking about what I can do to my toys... Hell I picked out new bumpers, wheels, tires, and rear rack for my Four Wheeler earlier.... Maybe I should've stayed searching for goodies for it....

If I were at my girlfriends house, I know what I would be doing and it wouldn't be shopping for filters....lol

I'm on the fence myself about an intake. I want to hear the turbos more. Ford thinks we don't like that sound so they put baffles in the intake to shut them up. A Ford Racing branded intake would be on my truck in a NYC minute since it would be warranty friendly.

The 'best' intake for an otherwise stock EB is already on the truck.

If you insist on aftermarket, expect to also having to get a proper tune for it, despite BS claims to the contrary from some of the folks selling said intakes.

It's comical to read the same folks claiming skepticism for intake valve buildup on EB's, will blindly take the word of an intake manufacturer that *their* product requires no correction.

And - by now most folks are aware what kind of scrutiny is being focussed on aftermarket tuning for EB's by FMC.

Yer truck, yer money though. Good luck to the early adopters and pioneers

Emphasis added since regular text didn't work...

Aftermarket intakes are good at making noise not power much like aftermarket exhausts. What OEM would leave that much power on the table when the HP/TQ numbers sell trucks? I want one for the sound. I'm stock because most of the aftermarket ones are a compromise of the factory design. If one was sold by Ford it would not void the warranty or compromise the initial design.

You made the (erroneous) assumption that this was directed at you.

This predates any of your posts on the subject - sorry for the confusion.
