Ecoboost Dyno Numbers
Thought I would share some impressive dyno numbers for you guys.
I have a good friend that recently purchased a new FX4 with the Ecoboost engine.
We attended a dyno day Saturday at MOs Speedshop with our local Mustang Club and Scott brought his new truck.
Anyway his truck pulled a best of 323.44rwhp and 389.06rwtq. I am impressed!
You typically lose around 20% "give or take" through the auto tranny. Doing quick math, that calculates roughly around 388 hp and 466 ish torque at the crank?
Not too shabby for a V6 getting real nice fuel mileage to boot.
Way to go Ford!!
When the day comes that I trade my '04, I know what my next truck will be

Not from me I Love 'em !
I think driveline loss for a 4x4 is on the order of almost ~30% - so corrected, those numbers would be more in line with Ford's published crank hp& tq figures... which are still great.
Compare these to Injen's numbers (rwhp & rwtq) : http://www.injen.com/galleries/products/PF9013.pdf

Ex F150 owning, current 6.4 diesel owning, DPF hating, almost as much torque as a 5.0 and EB combined F250 owners in 3....2....1....
You know, a few years ago, whouda thunk we'd be arguing about all the good engines in an F150? They're both great engines, and those who can't accept that need to get a grip!

If a 4x4 have a 30% drivetrain loss, that would put the Ecoboost at almost 465hp and well over 500ft-pd of torque stock. That's 100hp over what Ford publish.
465 x 30% = 139.5 drivetrain loss
465 - 139.5 = 325.5 whp
Or maybe i just don't understand how this work.

I do think the new trans is more efficient at transmitting power. But most places that have dynoed the EB say Ford is sandbagging the numbers or the driveline is a miracle. I have a feeling that after the Cobra (2000?) that didn't make its numbers Ford has been playing it safe and under rating motors.
