First weekend with the new F-150 FX4 SCrew

So I just spent my first weekend driving my brand spankin new F-150 FX4 SCrew with a 6.5 ft bed. My first thoughts when I saw my new truck was damn that's big. I have to admit I was more than a little intimidated, both with the size of the truck and the size of my investment into my first new car. Coming from a TJ Wrangler, I was prepared for the truck to be larger and to be less apt to turn on a dime. That being said, I was wholly and pleasantly surprised. My first weekend with the rig led me through north Philadelphia, narrow and tense to say the lest, followed by a 75 mile ride through NJ. The F-150 drove like a DREAM. I felt like I was driving on a couch when I was cruising, and once I got used to the size a little bit, I was impressed with the quickness of the beast. Overall, I think it was an excellent buy, and I'm beyond pleased with the purchase. Anyone thinking of a full size truck should take a long hard look at the F-150 and I think they'd be hard pressed to find a better package.

What engine does it have?
Yeah....they do ride nice. My truck is a solid foot longer then my last one. Was kind of intimidating to me as well, but only till i started driving it.

Nice, glad you like the new ride. These trucks can be quite a handful at times.

100 % in agreement. Had my SCrew for 5 weeks now & took me a week to feel comfortable backing up. No arguement - Ford has done their homework!!

Enjoy your new toy!! Post some pics will ya??

Back up sensors and a rear view camera definately help. Especially with the screw and 6.5ft box.

I was expecting a big difference going from the 145 to the 157 WB and to me I dont even think about it being longer.... Real easy to drive and manuever, but I have only ever driven trucks....

Those things have tremendously hurt my back up skills. my superduty i could parallel park no issues, this thing is much harder. I don't know why, but even my past f150's were easier than this one.

It's all that power. Quit doing burnouts when you back up!

I couldn't agree with you any more. I've had my 2012 FX4 5.0 for almost 3 weeks and I love it! It's a big difference coming from a Yota Taco. This is a great truck!

Thanks for being a troll. I was just saying that it's a lot bigger than my wrangler and I've never driven something that long before. No need to be an ***.

No worries, OP - he's just mad 'cause you have a new truck.

Enjoy it and post some pics when you can.
