2012 f150 already headed to shop

The actual build date is located at the top of the window sticker, towards the middle. You will see something like 'DRB-00XX00' followed by an abbreviation for the state that it was shipped to (mine says OR for Oregon). Next to that you will see a bunch of numbers and letters in slightly smaller font.
Example of what to look for: 220120528. Below this number will be the word "BLEND", with a 4 digit number after it (This will always start with 22012 if built in 2012 and 22011 if built in 2011).
22012 = Built in 2012 Year
05 = Month Built (May)
28 = Day Built (28th)

Here is the link to my label in PDF file.
http://fordlabels.webview.biz/webvie...FX1EF2CFB45941
Note the date at the bottom of the page. 03/29/12. At the top of the page as you described, it says 04/06/2012.
Yet at the very bottom of the page it shows todays date. 5/20/2012.

Your build date is 04/06/2012, built at the Dearborn, MI plant.
The date at the very bottom of the page shows the "viewing date". Basically, every time you go to view the window sticker using the link, it records the last date in which it was viewed. So since you viewed it today, 5/20/12 is listed at the bottom.
I believe that the date 03/29/12 is the date in which the order was processed. Mine says 04/09/12, but the build date is 04/16/12.
So it looks like your F150 was built on a Friday, just about 1 week before mine. The configuration is basically the same as mine, and I have the same options except I added the back-up camera and 20" wheels. Hopefully I don't run into these shifting problems. I have yet to receive the truck so I guess I will just have to wait and see. I will keep you posted.
I had this exact same problem with my 2010 Ford Edge. The jerk/clunk when driving uphill or after a cold start. One time it happened, the transmission disengaged and I started rolling backwards. I had it towed to Ford and they had to replace the Transmission Range Sensor. That seemed to fix the problem. 12,000 more miles on it and it only happened once more, just after the part was replaced.

I have a 2012 FX4 5.0 brand new when I bought it last month. Same thing happened to me a couple of times. Also, the engine died when I put it in reverse at a gas station. Not on a slope or anything, put it in reverse and slowly started to back up when it just died. Anyone have that happen?

^ might be related to the timing. See the 3rd page discussion on this thread.

I just entered my vin at this website. after clicking vehicle at the upper left.
http://www.etis.ford.com/home.do
It shows my build date as 07.04.2012. Since it isn't even July yet, I assume it means april 7 2012. That would be one day later than the window sticker date of 04/06/2012.

RVJ - That is really mind blowing. I wonder why Ford Etis says on day and the window sticker says another. I ran my vin through that same website just now and my build date is the same as my window sticker (16-04-2012). Maybe it took 2 days to build your truck? hahaha!

My three week old F150 5.0l v8 has done this exact "bump and jump" at least 6_12 times. As someone has said, seem to do it after it,s been shut off and sitting for a few hours. The build date was 12 April 2012. Out of Kansas City plant. Guess I should take it in to dealer and see what they do or say.

2012 F-150 Shifting problem
I have the same problem 2012 F-150, bought it last September and love the truck have 14k on the truck. I noticed the shifting problem about 6 months ago didn't think it was a issue. Now it is getting worse. Take off slow after sitting a while and it acts like it tries to shift back and forth rapidly. My son says it like you are trying to start off from 3rd gear.
I have a appointment with the dealer on friday. Any ideas out there??
