Luckily we had just left the shop and my daughter was not with us.. It was a sudden stop from 50mph when bearings jammed into every tooth, nook and cranny in there and all the teeth sheered off the pinion and further jammed things up. It was not moving and was already a total loss so we called for the other set of wheels and tires, unhooked the driveshaft, and proceeded to drag it kicking and screaming back to the shop. It put a sizable hole in the mag-hytech cover when things imploded.

Glad you removed the stripe it looks better without IMO. I'm not sure about the offset front plate though. Never could figure out why Ford did that on some trucks? I guess I like symmetry.

They moved it for the EcoBoost trucks because it blocks airflow to the intercoolers.

Bet you were really excited picking it up. Cant wait to see how the new one will eventually be transformed. The '05 is sweet too, sorry about your luck on the rearend.

Ordered her March 28th, picked her up June 1 in OKC. Loving every minute of it! She won't be modded to the gills like her bigger sister, but she will get a few small things here-and-there.
The specs are: 2012 FX4, EB, 3.73, FX app, lux, nav... Basically fully loaded except for max tow and the 4.10 axles. I love it, been averaging 17.5 mpg's (mostly highway driving) and its a blast to drive!
I get the best of both worlds now since I kept the 05 in the stable!
First day home:
A week later tinted, bed lined, stripe gone, wheel wells sprayed and truck fully detailed:
For anyone interested here are some shots of the app package stripe:
Hopefully the pictures are rotated and straight..
