Billet Grille Insert for Bumper????
I am thinking of ordering a billet insert for the open section of the bumper on my 2011 Screw EB. Anyone have them installed on their EcoBoost?? What is everyones opinion. i am worried about something flying up and hitting the cooler and causing damage. I seen one the other day with a big dent in it, looked like from a rock. At the same time I am worried about it messing up the air flow that the EB relies so much on.

I installed one on my truck nearly 1.5 years ago. At the time, some people on another forum had scan gauges of some sort and didn't see any major changes in IATs so it seemed safe enough.
Ford has recently released a TSB for condensation build up in the intercooler in humid climates which basically means the intercooler is too efficient. So from that and the fact that others aren't seeing major changes in IATs I'm convinced that the lower grill is harmless.
FWIW... probably not much, but I've owned Grand Nationals for 24 years and this plastic screen is what the air had to pass through on a bone stock GN with a stock intercooler. So compared to that the lower bumper grill on the F150 doesn't look too restrictive.
