Towing a 26ft trailer with the 5.0?
Looking at getting a 26ft travel trailer and I have the 5.0 2011 fx4 wuth 5star tune, exhaust, afe intake and aftermarket trans pan? just wondering how you guys will think it will tow a 26ft travel trailer? I'd also have a 800lb atv in the back? Just curious if it would be too much for the little 5.0 Thanks!

With a weight distributing hitch, it shouldn't be a problem as long as tune is perf/tow tune. I had a 2011 FX4 Supercrew 5.0 and pulled a 32' with 2 slides. You'll probably be pushing the GVWR rating but power wise, no problem! GVWR should be 7700# for a FX4 & Supercrew should be under 5800# empty.

7700 is only with the max tow, otherwise at best it will be 7200. You did notice about the 800lb atv in the bed. With that, before he adds people or anything else, he will be at max GVWR, at best. Trailer will be at minimum, 500lbs tongue weight, and probably only with an empty trailer. Either the atv or the trailer, not both.

I have a Eco screw and max tow, haul a 29' total length camper 5780lbs dry, I also haul a grizzly 700 in the bed and tow in the mountains of Idaho, no problem, normally run 65-70 mph highway, I'm just over my gcwr and I know people look down on it, but if your like me and tow 5-8 times max a year and only go 60 miles or so on trips I wouldn't worry about upgrading, the power is there. But it also depends on how comfortable you are towing over ur gcwr.
