Remote start only honks and doesn't start

So I went to use the remote start today and the engine kinda half cranked and then stopped. Ever since then, every time I've tried it it just honks at me and doesn't start. I got it to start once but when I tried it again it honked at me again. Starts with the key just fine. Any clues?

depending on the vehicle on how it honks and what type of honking along with duration and number of times will tell you what might be wrong

Had a similar issue with a vehicle that was low on fuel. Is low fuel light on?

Mine did it once also. I just started it with the key and it's worked fine since. Not sure of my fuel level the time it didn't start.

3/4 of a tank. Factory remote start. Push the lock button and then hit the start button twic and it let's out one loud honk and does nothing. It worked perfectly up until I posted yesterday. I use the remote start constantly cause its a 105* and black trucks with black leather are not nice to get in after sitting for a while.

My 2011 does it from time to time too, the dealer said it could be something to do with the gear shifter not being all the way in park? I make sure it's ll the way in park and it hasn't done it since? Stupid I know

The only time mine has done that is when I accidentally press the start button more than twice. Sometimes I don't think I hit the button enough times so I hit it again, that's when it will try to start then stop.

I hold the button down for 2 seconds on my Ford cheapo RS.

Hold the same button for 1 second and my truck's engine turns off.

Everytime I read the title of the thread, I want to say that you now have a remote honk. Sorry, could not help myself.

Try disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes. Might re-set the problem.

Mine did the same thing a few days ago. Been behaving normal since. Could be something simple like the shift not fully in park.
