Guys, seriously. It's freaking oil, change it early. Why send out oil for analysis, start specific oil websites, etc. just to try and extend your intervals or see what's in it? Change it with Motorcraft and forget it, no reason to worry or beat it to death. I'm not knocking folks who analyze their oil, but I have too many other things in life to worry about.

I'm in sales, and have several coworkers who run F150's like me. We've all used the trucks' oil life calculators without any engine related issues.

Denny and Ken have over 100k on their EB's already, and have only done 10k changes. My EB is at 21k, and doesn't use a drop of oil between 10k changes. Highway miles are gentle on oil, and engines.

I've had 1997, 2001, 2004, 2007, 2009, and now a 2012 F150. The only internal engine issue I've had was the cam phaser issue on the 2009. Combined total of 816k miles. I think my personal data (94 oil changes) means I'll keep changing my oil at high intervals.

F150's are the bomb!

ajsturtz - I was hoping you'd chime in! I knew you had racked up some serious mileage, that's impressive!

Why start an oil specific website? Why start a car audio website? A fiberglass building website? A waterski website? Why start a truck specific website? Different people enjoy different things. You are correct hydro, change it early if you are in doubt. However if you read BITOIG and learn how to interpret an analysis you may catch a bearing going bad before your motor grenades or a loose intake hose that's flooding your motor with salt.

I'm done. Have a great evening
