Factory Oil
I know the factory recommended oil is the 5W-20. But what oil is it, is it dyno oil, synthetic, blended? Does anyone know who manufactures it? Valvoline, Quaker, Mobil? What is the recommended change interval, and what is the sites concensious of what should be used?
Lots of question I know, and thanks.

It is a synthetic blend. And a good one is the Motorcraft 5w20, which can be purchased relatively cheaply at Walmart. Also stay away from Fram filters. The MC filters again can be purchased cheaply at Walmart.
For frequency, follow your owners manual. If you do not have one, you can download one for free from www.motorcraftservice.com in the owners manual section.

It shouldn't be a problem. However, if that bothers you, change it sooner.

At the very least, go by the owners manual. That being said, if you are using a full synthetic, you can go longer. Check the recommendations for the oil. However you should still change the filter at the recommended intervals.

If you have a EcoBoost go sooner. The oil gets fuel diluted bad by 5,000 miles. I change mine at 3-4k for cheap insurance. I went 5k and the oil smelt like pure gasoline. There have been many test and oil analysis showing direct injected motors fuel dilute the oil way sooner than conventional fuel injected motors. My wifes Edge with the NA 3.5L we go to 5-7,500 miles and the oil smells and looks good by then.
